ReSTART

HEY!
Okay… so I know it has been a long while since I last updated this thing, so as not to bore and wright a full on essay I’m going to Restart with this year.

So what’s been happening?! – I had a fairly average NZ summer of racing. I kept thinking I was taking a long time to get my fitness back after finishing last season with injury – so I was training the house down, having some good days but also having a hard time recovering. Thinking I was just unfit I kept going… and going until I could not go any more. The old confidence certainly took a hammering and I really started to doubt myself. A Doctor visit and a blood test I found out I had low iron and post viral fatigue from possibly either a virus I had in November or earlier in 2013 that had been affecting me all summer long. Awesome. Hm. No, but I am super happy to now know what has been dragging me down – and start to believe in my self again and be healthy for what I hope is going to be an awesome 2014!

Apart from bad health I did however have a pretty awesome summer hanging out with friends and family – it's going to sounds cliché but every year I seriously love NZ more and more… can't get
enough!

I am very lucky this year to have some wonderful personal support from some awesome businesses that are playing a huge role in helping me achieve my goals! So a huge THANKS to:

Okay so now on to VK!!!

On Thursday I flew out from AK to SF to join VK for TC(team camp... keeping with the abbreviations ;) )
This year we have a team of 12 plus 3 development riders which is going to be groooovy!
Camp was busy but fun to meet all the team, catch up with old and new team mates and friends – although was missing my kiwi back up gal Sophie who is back home training for track nationals. 3 aussies vs 1 kiwi was a bit hard…. But I think I matched them well ;)

My fave day of team camp would have to be the day we had a beautiful hilly ride up kings mountain and west Old la’honda with a pre ride coffee stop at Terun (BEST ITALIAN IN PALO ALTO) followed by an arvo at the day spa J quick team debrief and then team dinner back at Terun! Perfecto!!
