Next 2 months of Suitcase Livin'

HI!

Things here have definitely been going in the upwards direction for me since my last post! :) :) wooohoo. Bout time. Finally I am feeling good, and it looks like all signs of my viral fatigue, low iron, and bad health that has come my way this year has gone! Thank god!

2 weeks ago I raced the women’s race at the Amgen tour of California. A Circuit race in downtown Sacramento. Although it would of been awesome to have a whole stage race like the men… it was pretty cool to get a women’s circuit race in addition to the invitational time trial the following day.

The race was so much fun! Although a pan flat, four corner, 2 mile circuit is not exactly my forté, I loved every single moment of it! I felt amazing! The crowds so were huge and you could hardly hear your self think! …. it was so so very cool!

We were working for our Canadian super sprinter Gillian Carlton, and were pretty confident going into the race that she was one of the strongest sprinters in the 125 rider field. I went a bit OTT on the old attacking/ covering side of things, and even managed to get the race prime. with 3 laps to go Liza and I were positioning Gillian for the sprint when Liza unfortunately crashed out and Gillian got stuck behind. She powered her way back to the front group but it was all little to late, and unfortunately we could only pull off 10th. Although we didn't get the big W - we had awes team work and I’m sure the results will come in the very near future.

After our race was over, A few of us including my Kiwi galpal Court Lowe headed up Mt. Diablo to watch the finish of the mens stage 3…. we got super lucky and some how got treated to some VIP treatment up the top of the mountain right on the finish line, with lunch, shade, TV’s to watch the race before the finish as well as couches and bean bags to relax in! Luxury ;)
Was such a fun day…. but hopefully next year we can race up it too!!

Right now I am mid flight on my way to the East coast for our next big block of racing. We are straight into it tomorrow with Miranda and I racing the Tour of Sommerville Crit in New Jersey… Quick turn around but hopefully the legs pull up all gee.

After Sommerville I have a pretty FULL ON schedule for the next 2 months. With something like 29days of racing in the next 2 months… eeeek! I am so amped to get racing!!!!

Next up is Philly this Sunday - one of my favourite races of the year!!
